Whistler is famed for being a mecca for skiers and mountain bikers across the world. This has led some people to believe that Whistler is a two-season resort. But they’re wrong! There are so many things to do in Fall in Whistler too! Our mountain town attracts people here with its hiking, fishing, biking and village charm throughout Fall!

Whistler Fall Hiking

Hiking in Fall - Justa Jeskova

Hiking

Hiking isn’t just for the height of summer. Trails in the mountains here are open until mid-October. Tickets are often cheaper at this time of year, and there are smaller crowds! You can upload to the hiking trails via the Whistler Village Gondola. This drops you off at Roundhouse Lodge which you can use as your base to explore the mountains.

There are different trails that are suited for all levels of hikers. After a short hike, you can jump onto Peak Express Chair. This will take you to the peak of Whistler Mountain where you’ll have great views of the valley below and The Black Tusk. The recently built Cloudraker Skybridge and Raven’s Eye are other popular attractions that you’ll find at the peak.

Whistler Fall Pumpkin Spiced Lattes

Cozy up with a hot drink on a Fall day. - Justa Jeskova

Pumpkin Spiced Lattes

Everyone secretly loves the return of Fall for one reason - pumpkin spiced lattes! These tasty and comforting drinks are a really big deal now and you’ll find them in almost every cafe in town! There’s just something special about drinking a warm drink and watching the Fall leaves change colour.

The best place to grab a hot drink is high in the mountains. You’ll be able to get close to nature at this magical time of the year. Roundhouse Lodge has lots of food and drink options to suit any palate. There’s also a large patio area with panoramic views of the mountains and nature.

Whistler Fall Mountain Biking

There’s biking after Crankworx! - Justa Jeskova

Biking

Some people think that once Crankworx is over that mountain biking is too. But they’re very wrong! Once the mountain biking festival is over the trails are still open! You can ride the bike park until early October, but this is weather dependent! Just like hiking in Fall, expect to find cheaper lift tickets and less crowded trails.

The bike trails throughout the valley will also be open until the snow arrives. There’s a near neverending choice of trails from Function Junction to Emerald Estates. Stop by any bike shop and pick up a WORCA Trail Map. This map contains all the trails throughout the valley and all proceeds go to maintaining the trails!

Fall is also a great time to go shopping in the bike stores here. Stores will be swapping over to skis and snowboards for Winter, so you might find a great bargain on bike gear!
