Dog-Friendly Parks
Being active is one of our favourite things to do here in Whistler. Thanks to lots of great dog parks and walks, you can be active with your dog here too!
Alpha Lake Park
Alpha Lake Park is right on our doorstep in Creekside and has one of the best dog parks in Whistler. On an early morning stroll with your furry friend, you can watch the sunrise above the mountains as your dog runs around the park and splashes in the lake! Stop by one of the great cafés in Creekside on your way there and make it the perfect morning!
Rainbow Park
Whistler’s biggest park also has a great dog park. The dog park is secluded from the main area and the dogs even have their own dock to jump into the water from! You can reach Rainbow Park either by car or walking on the Valley Trail.

WAG
Whistler Animals Galore, or WAG as it’s more commonly known, is Whistler’s local animal shelter. They take in abandoned pets and also reunite lost pets with their owners. They also offer a DIY dog grooming service where you can take your mucky mutt and give them a thorough cleaning! Perfect after a day of running around Whistler!
Pet Stores
Whistler Happy Pets in Function Junction is perfect for when you need to stock up on some food or toys for your pet. They stock lots of Canadian brands and only sell the healthiest food! Sometimes little pooches aren’t used to the winter temperatures here, so why not stop by one of the souvenir shops and buy them a cozy outfit!
Dog Walkers
There are so many fun activities to do in Whistler, but unfortunately, not all of them are pet-friendly. Thankfully, we have some great dog walking services that can keep your four-legged friend entertained while you check out an art gallery or get some much deserved retail therapy! Whistler Dog Walkers and Alpine Dogs will be delighted to take your dog on a walk and show them the beautiful sights of Whistler!

Rules For Pets In Whistler
Because we’re so pet-friendly in Whistler, we also have some bylaws and tips to make sure that everyone gets along!
You must have your dog on a leash unless you’re in a designated off-leash area. This is for the safety of your dog and everyone else. Bears live in Whistler and can be a danger to dogs in certain conditions. That’s why it’s very important that your dog remains on its leash at all times.
Please pick up after your pet! There are lots of dog waste bins in Whistler, so please use them!
If you’re out with your dog on a hot day, please bring a drink of water for your dog. All that running around in the heat can really dehydrate your dog and put its health at risk.
Whistler is an incredible place to spend some quality time with your pet. We’d love if you stayed with us at Whistler’s best pet-friendly hotel. Call us today and let us organize your trip here!
