WSSF Welcomes Back the Saudan Couloir Ski Race Extreme
With the days getting longer and the weather getting warmer, it’s hard not to start thinking about all the amazing events coming up. Back once again this April 10th - 15th, 2018 is North America’s largest snow sports, music, arts, and mountain culture festival.
The World Ski and Snowboard Festival has been a staple event in Whistler for over a decade, changing promoters over the years but always keeping the spirit of the festival alive. 2018 is expected to be no different with everybody's favourite events returning for the five day celebration of winter culture.
WSSF offers a little something for the whole family, with events such as; Olympus 72hr Filmmaker Showdown, Olympus Pro Photographer Showdown, Art & Soul, Intersection, Monster Energy Boarderstyle World Championships, Twisted Tea Slush Cup, and so much more. Saudan Couloir Ski Race Extreme 2018
Making it’s return to Whistler for WSSF in 2018, after a 20 year hiatus, is the Saudan Couloir Ski Race Extreme! Titled the world’s steepest ski race, the Saudan Couloir hasn’t been in Whistler since 1988 but it’s return promises to bring out mountain legends, seasoned pros, and headstrong amateurs willing to test their might at this extreme race hurtling down 2280 feet on a 42 degree angle.
If you’re up for the challenge and think you can tackle the Couloir than you’ll be excited to know registration for the race opened today (Thursday, March 1). If you’re serious about entering the Saudan Couloir make sure you sign-up quickly because spots are expected to sell out!
