Subaru IRONMAN Canada Returns This July
Are you ready for the 2017 Subaru IRONMAN Canada triathlon?! This July 30th, 2017, Whistler and Pemberton are once again hosting the epic race through the Sea-to-Sky Corridor. Challenge yourself physically and mentally as you swim, bike, and run in British Columbia’s beautiful terrain.
Preparation is incredibly important for triathlons, or any endurance event for that fact. It’s highly recommended that participants get to know the course before race day as it can make a huge difference in performance when it counts.
Make the race a full vacation for your family in Whistler. Take a few days to train but also treat your family or friends to a beautiful time in Whistler! It doesn’t matter if you’re in Whistler to compete, spectate, volunteer, or support, there’s tons of things to do while you’re here.
Here’s a few ideas for you to do while you’re in Whistler:
- Bring the kids to the Blackcomb Base Adventure Zone
- Try ziplining or a riding on the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola to see Whistler above the treetops
- Adrenaline junkie? Try out some white water rafting or a maybe an ATV tour
- Rent a bike or hike to one of Whistler's many lakes for a full day of family fun.
- Check out the breathtaking mountains, hikes, and farm-to-table scene in Pemberton, only 20 minutes north of Whistler.
Looking to celebrate after the race? There’s no lack of options for celebration when you’re in Whistler. Treat yourself to an after race massage at the spa, then head out to the town where plenty of other participants will be out and about as well. Get dinner with the family or have some drinks with your new friends – you've earned it, champ!
Even if you’re not competing, locals should know, on July 30, 2017, traffic pattern changes will be put in effect throughout Whistler and Pemberton to ensure the safety of participants in the Subaru IRONMAN Canada event.
