Whistler Blackcomb’s Opening Day is Only One Month Away

You can already feel the excitement in the air in Whistler as skiers and boarders get ready for the highly anticipated 2017/18 Opening Day of Whistler Blackcomb. Last year was a massive winter season in Whistler which saw copious amounts of snowfall on the mountain and made for some great ski days. This year the mountain will be opening on November 23rd, 2017 and this year's conditions are looking just as promising with the snow starting to fall in mid-October.

Whistler Blackcomb Mountain Chairlift

It’s hard to sit still as we patiently wait for Opening Day to arrive, but there’s still lots of things to get you even more excited for the Whistler Blackcomb chairlifts to open. Start waxing your board or skis, get your bindings tuned up, and practise some cardio because it’s going to be another great year on Whistler Blackcomb. While you’re not frantically getting your gear ready for opening day, take some time to boost the anticipation by checking out some of these things.

Magnetic: A Whistler Blackcomb Movie

This year, Whistler Blackcomb has created it’s very first full-length ski movie, shot entirely in the Whistler area. Unfortunately, Magnetic has already had it’s official screening in Whistler which means we’re just going to have to wait until it gets a release date, hopefully this winter. In the meantime you can get an inside scoop on the movie by watching one of Whistler Blackcomb’s many trailers.

Check out the recently released Numinous ski film featuring Kye Peterson. This film features mostly Whistler and pemberton locals and some of the most progressive freestyle skiing ever caught on film.
