Three Things to do in Whistler This Weekend
The weekend forecast is looking good and we're excited! We have sun, a bit of could and highs of 25 degree celsius coming our way. In addition to cheering on the Ironman athletes this Sunday, we've come up with three activities for your weekend and a list of our favourite spots for a fun night out with family and friends.
Explore Lost Lake Park
Hike/Bike Lost Lake Trails (Unlimited Time)
Lost Lake Park holds nearly 100km of hiking and biking trails. Some of Whistler’s best cross country biking is in Lost Lake Park, there are dirt roads, singletrack and technical trails to choose from. Many trails are multi-use and multi-directional except for the nature trails that are marked “Walking only.” The PassivHaus house in Lost Lake offers bike rentals, lessons, and guided tours.
Lost Lake (Unlimited Time)
After a nice bike ride or hike along the Lost Lake Trails, head to the Lake. On one side of the lake, there is a park that offers a sandy beach, grassy field, swim area, docks, picnic tables, BBQ stands, accessible washrooms, and a concession stand. Around the lake, there are also various docks and beaches to hang out at. The lake is accessible by a dirt road and is within a fifteen-minute walk from Whistler Village. The lake is perfect for swimming, paddle boarding, canoeing, floating and fishing.
Wedgemount Hike (4 – 5 Hours)
The Wedgemount Lake Hike is one of the most amazing hikes in Garibaldi Park, it’s a much steeper trail than any other hike around and is perfect for those looking for a challenge. It’s a difficult steep trail with an elevation gain of 1220m in only 7km. Roundtrip its 14 kilometres and will take around 4 – 6 hours. The lake is a beautiful turquoise color, surrounded by multiple glaciers. It’s a great day or overnight destination that provides you with spectacular views of the surrounding peaks.
Yoga on the Raven’s Nest Patio (2 hours)
Every Sunday until Sept 4th, upload the Creekside Gondola for Free 1 hour Clif Top Yoga Sessions on the Raven's Nest patio. This Sunday is forecasted to be sunny with highs of 25 degrees Celsius, enjoy yoga in the fresh mountain air with amazing views of the valley and surrounding peaks.
